This is the best hand-held vacuum cleaner – and one of the very. This is the best hand-held vacuum cleaner – and one of the very few plug-in ones, which are more powerful than the battery-operated versions. Excellent cleaning, and no running out of power half-way up the stairs.

Great power and very portable. I bought this vacuum as i needed something to help me hoover the stairs without being bulky. I had considered battery powered handheld vacuums but i was concerned about them not being powerful enough. The size: the size is handy and all the features on it tuck away neatly. The length of cable is very good & can reach up a whole flight of stairs no problem. Suction : powerful like my upright dyson. Good on cat hair on both carpet and laminate floor. Features: regular, brush, hose with cranny tool for edges/corners and i use mine down the side of the sofa. The dust compartment is extremely easy to remove & empty. Use: sofa, stairs, car, a quick whizz around.

Slightly heavier than expected but great on stairs and for the quick ‘pick up’ in the dining room.

AEG AG71a RapidClean Stair and Car Handheld Vacuum Cleaner – Graphite Grey : This is a great hand held vacuum. Bought it to hoover my car with and so far has been amazing. The suction is really outstanding and the cord is long enough to reach outside. The option to operate the vacuum without the rotary brushes is ideal for protecting upholstery and the detachable stretch hose is great. My only criticisms are that its very slightly bulky for some areas of the car and that the cord doesn’t stay wrapped around the machine very well, but that issue can be solved by purchasing a wire clip.

    Good, but you might want earplugs. . Seems to do the job well on stairs and in the car. It just sounds like you’re stood next to a jet engine, it is incredibly loud and the ‘exhaust’ blows out of the back right over you. The dust collector is very small (it’s a small cleaner i suppose) and the filter falls in the bin every time you empty it. It has a really long power cable and it all packs away neatly.

I opted for this as the reviews were a bit more positive. It’s a fantastic vacuum cleaner, very strong suction. I couldn’t believe how well it pulls up hair and picks up bits i didn’t know was there.     I’m choosing 4 because it is a bit heavy. Plus it has a very short hose. And the lead doesn’t easily wrap roung the vacuum. But those things don’t really matter as it’s works and is really good. Before getting this i had returned to trying to clean the stairs with a hard brush not because my other vaccum is not powerful enough but because i had to lug it precariously up the stairs with one hand while trying to vaccum with the other. Has a brush thing on the front which you can lower and raise and it has a pointy crevice tool stuck into the back which is easy to get out. You can also see when it’s full as it’s transparent.

      Really long cord so can easily do the stairs and the car. The only problems are a) it’s quite heavy and b) the cord doesn’t stay in place when finished and wrapped up.
