Vax handheld vacuum – good so far. Early days but appears to do everything it says on the box. Will update in a month or so reference how it progresses.

Works well but battery difficult to get on and off.

Works well but battery difficult to get on and off.

Great power and suction but really annoying that you have to remove the battery for charging rather than just placing the vacuum cleaner in a charging port. Also there’s nowhere to store the nozzle fitting in the hoover so it’s going to get lost sooner or later.

Vax handheld vaccuum review. Well worth the extra money rather than keep buying cheap ones. Only thing thats lets it down slightly is when you have emptied it and go to click it back in place the clip is very poor (not very strong).

    Good unit but no replacement for a mains-powered vacuum cleaner. . I see a lot of reviews here complaining about the suction, but these reveal a lack of understanding of how much power a mains-powered vacuum cleaner uses. A typical mains-powered unit uses about 1. 8kw of energy to do its job, so can easily pull dirt and hair from difficult surfaces. This handheld unit will be a tiny fraction of that, probably no more than 20 watts. So you can see how it will never compare with a full size unit. That said, it’s perfect for what i bought it for – cleaning up cat hair and loose dirt and dust from laminate floors and wooden stairs. It has no problem collecting these, although the draft from the sides can sometimes send the pet hair flying around the room. A better disguised vent would be more useful here. It’s also good at getting bits of food out of the crevices on your sofa, and cleaning up powdery spills from the worktop.

      Also it would have been useful to have the charger wall mounted so you can. The battery takes ages to charge and i mean ages, also it would have been useful to have the charger wall mounted so you can leave the hoover on charge with the battery in it.

      Not bad as an addition to a vax air cordless vacuum. I bought this to clean my car and to vacuum the stairs as i already have the full size vax air cordless vacuum cleaner. This shares the same battery so had the added convenience for me. The product could be improved with more attachments.     The good news is this battery handheld is quite powerful,suction being more than adequate for cleaning the car,which is my main requirement. However the filter is not quite as good,becoming overwhelmed quickly resulting in puffs of dust from the motors exhaust,although the filter is washable you then have to wait until it dries. Cold do with a couple more attachments,which would make it more versatile. The clip holding the two halves of the main body together seems a little flimsy,but time will tell. These criticisms aside,this is still the best vacuum of this type i have used.
